Faraway

The river had run from a faraway place
Secrets carried deep within the water
Wonderboy sang a lonely serenade
Inspiration finally brought her

He whispers her name, she holds her teddy tight
From so faraway tonight

The Princess appeared from a faraway place
Dancing just like magic before Wonderboy
Her diamond eyes held a future so bright
A Soviet smile never left no choice

He whispers her name, she holds her teddy tight
From so faraway tonight

Miles away, leagues away
Another world away tonight
Miles away, leagues away
Another world away tonight

Wonderboy still sings from a faraway place
The Princess owns his thoughts, commands his heart tonight
He whispers her name, and the music plays
In her bed she holds her teddy tight

From so faraway tonight
From so faraway tonight
From so faraway tonight
He whispers her name, she holds her teddy tight

“When you carry thoughts of your gal deep inside and you are a thousand miles away touring on the road playing in another city, from the other side of the world on a humanitarian aid misson, from the dark side of the moon on a spiritual mission. This song was originally written as a poem to my wife back in 2002, when we first met working on board the Carnival Inspiration.”
